The state's highest court has ruled that Massachusetts authorities cannot use a GPS system to track suspected sex offenders while they are awaiting trial.
I, for one, am glad to learn that the SJC is not bowing to the political pressure and hysteria about alleged "sex offenders". This is still a nation of laws, and nobody should be treated like a criminal until they are convicted (not charged, not indicted) of a crime or crimes by a jury of peers.
Dont get me wrong, I support GPS tracking once a person is convicted; but until such time, they are entitled to the presumption of innocence until the State meets its burden of proof.
